Palmgren remains hopeful

Amazulu stole a valid point on an away game at the Orlando Stadium against a determined Orlando pirates side. Fortunately for a good performance by the defence of Amazulu, they walked away the happier side.

A hope full and inspired coach of AmaZulu Roger Palmgren had the following to say about the game:

“One cannot say this was an unfair game. The plan was not to defend during the game but to play our normal football. It was just a consequence of the fact that our midfield failed to rise up to the occasion.

The midfield players took a step back and as a result invited Pirates in our half, that is how we fell back.

The same applies with the strikers. They did not have a lot of opportunities at goal, which is why in the second half we decided to pull out Stanton Lewis for Kagiso Senamela.

On the brighter side I am very impressed by the defence. They held back and did an excellent job in denying Pirates attackers any free shots at goal.

We have two new additions to the squad Stanley Kgatla and Chavula, whom I think are going to make a huge difference. That is the positive we are implementing.

With that being said, I am happy with the away point against a strong side like Orlando Pirates, and from here we look forward to the next challenge. “
