Olwethu Mzimela getting SA U20 call up

The 18 year old AmaZulu Reserve goalkeeper has been drafted into Amajita’s COSAFA squad which will do duty in Zambia from 4-14 December.

The Lamontville born youngster will join Helman Mkhalele’s team on Monday in Johannesburg to prepare for a week long training camp.

AmaZulufc.net chatted to the youngster after yet another man of the match performance against Kaizer Chiefs in the Multichoice Diski Challenge in Ulundi yesterday.

Mzimela said of his call up: “I’m very excited to get an opportunity to be in the squad for the national team.”

“My coaches always tell me to keep my head down, work hard, and stay humble as I am,” he concluded.

Mzimela has already received promotion into the first team squad this season along with his teammate Bayanda Shangase.
