After losing 2-1 to Royal Eagles in a KwaZulu-Natal derby on Saturday at the Princess Magogo Stadium, AmaZulu defender Tapelo Nyongo says he is disappointed because they needed the points.
Nyongo said that he was convinced that Usuthu were going to win this match after having had a fruitful break during the FIFA international week.
“I am disappointed in the result. We wanted to win this match so bad, but unfortunately things didn’t go our way,” said Nyongo.
The hard working defender said they have set themselves goals as a team and winning against Eagles was part of the plan.
“We knew that they came hungry for a point but so did we. We have set ourselves goals and losing this match was not part of those goals. I think we played well and we deserved to win that match as we dominated in the match,” he said.
AmaZulu’s next match is against African Warriors away from home and Nyongo said they need to get back on track.
“We now need to focus on the game ahead and look at doing well and getting the full points,” said Nyongo.Share
