Nyadombo wins big at Usuthu awards

Defender Carlington Nyadombo was named the Player of the Season and the Player’s Player of the Season when the club held their awards ceremony on Friday night.

The towering centre-back was an integral part of the solid Usuthu defence last season playing alongside Belux Bukasa Kasonga.

“I feel very honoured that my teammates decided that I deserved to win these awards,” said the Zimbabwean defender.

“I didn’t expect it because we had many players who did well last season, but this is good motivation for me to do even better next season.”

Goalkeeper Tapuwa Kapini, who was also nominated for a number of categories for his stellar performance between the posts, walked away with the Suncoast Moments of Brilliance Award.

Other winners on the night were right flank specialist Tsweu Mokoro, who was named the Most Improved Player, and Goodman Dlamini, who bagged the Adidas Golden Boot award for scoring the most goals last season.

Marketing Manager Lunga Sokhela was also amongst those who were honoured on the night as he received the Chairman’s Award.
