AmaZulu FC forward Bongi Ntuli fancies Usuthu’s chances for an improved cup run as they look to take on Mamelodi Sundowns in the Telkom Knockout competition at the Lucas Moripe stadium on 20 October 2019.
Last season Usuthu reached the quarterfinal stage of the knockout challenge after bowing out at the hands of eventual runners up Orlando Pirates at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on 03 November 2018.
The 28-year-old Cato ridge born forward said: ‘’I believe that we utilized the friendly against Richards Bay over the weekend as preparation for our game against Mamelodi Sundowns in the Telkom.’’
‘’The mood in training is good, everyone is amped up and ready to battle it out on the field of play,” he added.
Ntuli, who last season signed a permeant deal with Usuthu after two loan spells from the Pretoria outfit to Usuthu, says he does not feel any pressure to score against his former team.
‘’I don’t really let the fact that I’ve played for them deter me from doing what I need to do, which is to score goals, so I just take them as any other opponent.’’
‘’It won’t be an easy game for us because we all know that Sundowns are a big team, and we’ll be playing away so we will have to be at our best to be able to come out victorious.’’
‘’We all have talked and decided that we need to pledge ourselves to work hard and gain as much silverware as we can,’’ he concluded.
Tickets are available at TicketPro for R40 (Adults) and R15 (Children).
The match will be played at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on 20 October 2019, Sunday. Kickoff is at 15:00.Share
