AmaZulu midfielder Butholezwe Ncube has reacted to being drawn against Mamelodi Sundowns in the Telkom Knockout Round of 16, saying they were confident of challenging themselves against one of South Africa’s biggest clubs.
The Zimbabwean is excited with their draw.
“It’s all about team work and the effort we put together as a team. It’s an away game, so it won’t be easy for us, as we’re playing against a big team,” said Ncube.
Usuthu emerged 2-0 victors in the last meeting between the two clubs, which was played in January this year.
AmaZulu, who won the competition in 1992, will once again look to take the fight to their Tshwane counterparts, who have been crowned TKO champions three times before.
Ncube says they will use the opportunity as a springboard to boost their 2019/20 campaign.
“It’s going to be a good game, all we need is maximum points and I think it’s now time for us to give it our all in the cup,” he said.
The fixture will be played out at the Lucas Moripe stadium, in Pretoria, with a date still to be confirmed.
