AmaZulu defender Vukile Mngqibisa is looking forward to the Prince Mangosuthu Legacy Cup.
The inaugural pre-season tournament will be played at the Ulundi Regional Stadium, Ulundi on Sunday, 30 July 2017.
“We are looking forward to the first edition of the tournament because it’s very important for our pre-season preparations,” Mngqibisa said.
“We will find out how far we are in terms of fitness and test our readiness for competitive football.
“We will be playing in Ulundi where we have a lot of fans and I think they will come up in large numbers to support us,” he continued.
“So, we need to win the tournament for them and ensure that the trophy stays in the province.
“Our preparations are on track and we have played a lot of friendlies. We are ready for the tournament.”
AmaZulu and Bloemfontein Celtic will be joined by Zulu District Municipality XI and Swaziland giants Mbabane Swallows.
Nicknamed Umkhonto Kashaka, Swallows are the reigning Swazi Premier League champions. They became the first Swaziland club to reach the group stage of a CAF competition last April.
Umkhonto Kashaka secured their place in the CAF Confederation Cup group stage after an impressive 4-3 aggregate victory over AC Leopards of Congo Brazzaville.
The draw for the Prince Mangosuthu Legacy Cup will take place on Friday, 28 July 2017.Share
