Usuthu’s latest signing Aubrey Mathibe, who has signed a three year deal with the Durban based side, has expressed excitement over the prospect of challenging for silverware in the new season.
The experienced goalkeeper who has turned out for Kaizer Chiefs, Thanda Royal Zulu and Moroka Swallows, admitted to AmaZulufc.net that the decision to join coach Craig Rosslee’s team was not an easy one.
“I’m happy to have signed with AmaZulu although it was not easy because of my family. I know AmaZulu have ambition and have good regard for professionalism, so that’s one of the reasons I’m happy to join them.
“I’m looking forward to working with everyone next season from management to the kit manager, and I know the club wants to challenge for cups and maybe the top eight,” said the Kroonstad-born keeper.
AmaZulu General Manager Peter O’Connor said that the 32-year-old shot stopper has been brought in to provide cover after Mbongeni Mzimela requested to put be placed on transfer.
