Manzini: I joined AmaZulu for growth

New AmaZulu FC striker Rhulani Manzini has revealed why he left Chippa United for Usuthu during the current Transfer Window.

Usuthu recently beefed up its striking department with the signing of the 29-year-old marksman, who joined the club on a three-year deal.

Manzini had established himself as United’s first-choice striker – netting nine goals in all competitions during the 2016/17 campaign.

The former Platinum Stars frontman says he accepted the challenge to join the KwaZulu-Natal giants for growth.

“In order for one to grow,” Manzini told United’s official website after his move was confirmed.

“He must come out of his comfort zone, and challenge himself,” the former Jomo Cosmos and Witbank Spurs player continued.

“You will forever be in my heart, may God bless you all.”

Manzini will compete with the likes of Mabhuti Khenyeza, Somila Ntsundwana and Siyabonga Nomvethe for a place in Usuthu coach Cavin Johnson’s starting line-up.

Manzini could not make his mark in the Absa Premiership for Dikwena as the frontman played only nine matches and he netted once in the process during the 2014/15 campaign.

The KwaZulu-Natal Derby is scheduled to take place at the King Zwelithini Stadium in Durban. Kick-off is at 19h30.
