AmaZulu FC striker Rhulani Manzini is among the top goalscorers in the Absa Premiership two months into the 2017/18 campaign.
The hard-working forward, who joined Usuthu from Chippa United in August, 2017, has hit the ground running at the Durban-based side.
Only Polokwane City marksman Rodney Ramagalela and Baroka FC midfielder Gift Motupa (four goals each) have scored more goals than Manzini in the league.
Manzini, who has netted three goals, is joint-third on the scoring charts along with Orlando Pirates forward Thamsanqa Gabuza, Kaizer Chiefs striker Gustavo Paez, Golden Arrows duo Lerato Lamola and Kudakwashe Mahachi.
Former Platinum Stars forward Manzini did not score in his first two matches for Usuthu, but he managed to open his scoring account for this season against Bidvest Wits.
Two goals in the second-half from Manzini earned AmaZulu a 3-0 victory over the defending champions at the King Zwelithini Stadium in Durban three weeks ago.
The 29-year-old was also on the scoresheet against his former side Stars. His second-half goal helped the KwaZulu-Natal giants hold Dikwena to a 1-1 stalemate in Durban over two weeks ago.
Last season, Manzini remarkably netted eight goals in nine league matches for United after recovering from a long-term injury which kept him out for several months.
The Bushbuckridge-born marksman will stand a good chance of mounting a serious challenge for this season’s Absa Premiership Golden Boot if he stays injury free.
He will look to continue his scoring form for AmaZulu when they take on Polokwane City in a league match at the King Zwelithini Stadium on 18 October 2017.Share
