Kapini welcomes Nedbank Cup draw

AmaZulu captain, Tapuwa Kapini has welcomed the prospect of facing Bidvest Wits in the Nedbank Cup Last 16 following Thursday’s draw which was held at Johannesburg’s Carlton Centre.

Usuthu will play the Clever Boys at home with the date and venue yet to be confirmed.

“They’re always a hard working team so we need to prepare well because they’ve gone three matches without a losing,” said Kapini.

“We have to have the belief that we can beat them while also being cautious of the fact that they beat us in cup competitions before.”

AmaZulu beat National First Division side United FC 2-0 to book their place in the Last 16 while the Clever Boys won 2-0 against AmaBee FC, who ply their trade in the SAFA Second Division.

“Every player in the team knows what is needed, going forward it’s all going to boil down to hard work,” added Kapini.

“It’s each and every player’s dream to play in a final so we have to do our best now.”
