Johnson: Usuthu will come back stronger

AmaZulu FC head coach Cavin Johnson felt that his side could have done better against Kaizer Chiefs over the weekend.

Usuthu suffered a 2-0 defeat in an Absa Premiership match which was played at the iconic FNB Stadium in Johannesburg.

Goals from defenders Ramahlwe Mphahlele and Siyabonga Ngezana handed Amakhosi the victory.

Johnson stated that Usuthu struggled to defend set-pieces, but they came back an improved side in the second-half.

“In the first-half we tried to come out and we did not defend the set pieces well,” Johnson said.

“We improved in the second-half and I thought we could have attacked a bit better,” the former Platinum Stars head coach added.

Usuthu’s next Absa Premiership match will be against their KwaZulu-Natal rivals, Maritzburg United on Tuesday, October 2.

“We will go back home to rest and come back fresher and stronger,” he concluded.

The KwaZulu-Natal Derby will take place at the King Zwelithini Stadium in Durban.

Kick-off is at 19h30 CAT.
