AmaZulu FC head coach Cavin Johnson has credited his team for sticking to the game plan against SuperSport United.
Usuthu returned to winning ways in the Absa Premiership when they defeated SuperSport United 2-0 at the King Zwelithini Stadium on Saturday night.
The victory ended AmaZulu’s seven-match winless run in the league and Johnson says keeping a clean sheet against Matsatsantsa has boosted his side’s confidence.
“Look, we did not play pretty football,” Johnson said.
“But sometimes you need to plan differently in order to get the three points.
Usuthu are now placed 13th on the league standings with 18 points from 16 games. They are six points behind eighth-placed Chippa United, who have played 18 games.
“Yes, I should give credit to the players because they stuck to the game plan,”he the former SuperSport coach continued.
“We told ourselves no matter what happens we won’t concede (against SuperSport).
“That in itself it is a confidence booster for the next game. We will build on this win.”
AmaZulu are scheduled to host Bloemfontein Celtic in their next league game which will be played at the King Zwelithini Stadium on Wednesday.
Kick-off is at 19h30.Share
