AmaZulu FC head coach Cavin Johnson gave credit to his side for fighting and putting on a good performance despite them suffering a 3-1 defeat to Black Leopards at the Thohoyandou Stadium.
‘’We knew it was going to be a tough fight coming out, nonetheless I’m proud of how far the team has come, my team is getting stronger and stronger,” he said.
Johnson however bemoaned missed chances in the first half and how different the game would have been had those chances been converted.
‘’If we took our chances in the first half, then it would have been a different story. At 2-1 I still thought we could have got something back.’’
‘’I think we could have played better as a team to show the dominance as far as the amount of games we’ve won previously, but not to be.’’
‘’We didn’t mark them properly for the third goal, however I’m not upset with my players.’’
‘’Sometimes you lose in football, sometimes you win,’’ Johnson concluded.
AmaZulu’s last encounter for the first half of the season will be in the Durban derby against bitter rivals Golden Arrows at the King Zwelithini Stadium on 22 December 2018.Share
