Johnson gives his verdict on Platinum Stars draw

AmaZulu FC Head Coach, Cavin Johnson was pleased Usuthu maintained their unbeaten Absa Premiership home run at King Zwelithini Stadium against Platinum Stars on 24 September.

Johnson said after the match: “Firstly coming off from a win against Bidvest Wits I thought we should have done better, and knowing that this team is behind us we had to push a little bit harder.”

“I thought in the first half we didn’t control the ball as well as we’d like to the ball. We got into the first half one nil down, with an error.”

“I think the goal was a nice goal but we should have pressed the ball better. Then we came out in the second half and I think we missed about four, five chances really really good chances and we scored the one penalty, which I thought was fair.”

“I thought we should have sealed the game in the second half because I thought we had more ball possession and we had better quality of attacking moments in attack.”

“If you look af the one that I think Sadate missed, the one Boysen Mbatha, the one that JB (Jabulani Ncobeni) misses, the one that Jovies (Vukile Mngqibisa) with his his head, the corner. Those are moments that when you connect probably and use the right technique they go inside and you win the game, but we’re happy thagt we didn’t lose the game.”

“I have to give credit to the boys for fighting hard. We are building the team for the future let us not over run ourselves,” said the Coach.
