AmaZulu midfielder Pineas Jacob says he is ready to challenge for a place in the starting lineup after completing his registration process with the Premier Soccer League.
The Namibia international joined Usuthu from United Africa Tigers at the start of the season and is now eligible to feature for Craig Rosslee’s side after receiving the necessary paperwork.
“I feel great because everything is done and it’s just for me to work hard to get into the team now,” he said.
“I’ve adapted well and the training is fine; the coach has told me to take it day by day.
“I’ve learned a lot about the club and the culture in the province and in the city; the people are welcoming.”
The 28-year-old attacking midfielder is also capable of playing as a striker and he says he is determined to help solve the goalscoring problem that has been a challenge for the club since the start of the season.
“I hope we’ll finish in the top five and I’d like to assist wherever I can and score goals for the team when given the chance,” he added.
“We just have to work hard and the rest will follow.”
Jacob was an unused substitute during Sunday’s 1-1 draw against Free State Stars and will be hoping to make his Absa Premiership bow against Platinum Stars at the Princess Magogo Stadium on Wednesday night.
