Namibian striker Tangeni Shipahu celebrated his first league goal in the 4-0 win over Ajax Cape Town on Tuesday at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.
“It is one of those days where you’re not doing good and then you have to just pull up our socks. The team spirit was really high and we’re just going to take it from there, we didn’t win the league.
All of us as strikers scored I think it’s a good start for us because we were struggling,” said Shipahu.
The Swakopmund, Namibia-born player still managed to trouble the Urban Warriors and seemed to pair well with the two strikers Ayanda Dlamini and Stanton Lewis.
“When you’re not doing well you have to work hard nothing else we did that. It’s all for now until we get to the next game,” said the former Tigers FC player.
Coach Roger Palmgren was equally elated with his charges.
“I think it was a total team work from the goal keeper up to the strikers. The contribution was all just a way of playing soccer, all 11 players together that is lovely to see.
We kept the discipline through out the 93 minutes even though we were leading 3-0 we continued with the structure that we talked about we communicated all the time in a positive manner which was lovely to see.
We have been missing lots of goal chances, hitting the barShare
