Hlanti: I have not yet reached my peak

AmaZulu’s Sifiso Hlanti said he is happy with the role that his coach Steve Barker has given him in the previous matches.

Hlanti, a left back, has recently been used in defensive midfield.

“I cannot really say that I have reached my peak performance. If the coach is happy to use me in that position, there is no problem but I will not just settle. I will continue working hard and striving to improve in every game that I play,” said Hlanti.

The former Golden Arrows player said although people have written them off, he still has faith that the club can still maintain their Absa Premiership status.

“If you look at our previous performances, you can see that there is great performances that we have put in, and it was just a matter of getting good results. We are committed and we are fighting in each and every game,” said Hlanti.

With their away game against SuperSport United on Sunday, Hlanti said this could be a great opportunity for them to set a new tone.

“A win against SuperSport United can change everything. I mean we have been doing well in terms of performance over the past games and if we can win now, then our problems will be over. I think it is just a matter of luck that is missing because we all want to win so badly.

“What people don’t realize is that we are not the only club in trouble and so this means the destiny is in our hands. If we win against SuperSport than the next teams that we are going to be face are going to be in trouble,” he said.
