AmaZulu and Golden Arrows will clash in an Absa Premiership Durban derby at the King Zwelithini Stadium on Saturday, 16 February 2013, kick-off at 18h00.
It is the second KZN derby for Usuthu in one week. AmaZulu began the resumption of the league with a goalless draw at home to provincial rivals Maritzburg United.
The team in green and white are still looking for their first away win of the season, having recorded four draws and five defeats from nine matches on the road.
Usuthu are placed 16th on the Absa Premiership log with 13 points from 17 matches.
Craig Rosslee’s side will be encouraged by the fact that they played some good football against Maritzburg on Tuesday night. They also asked some serious questions of their opponents’ defence and were unfortunate not to win the game.
Arrows come into the game full of confidence after picking up their first away win of the season in midweek with a 2-0 triumph at University of Pretoria.
The team in green and gold have been inconsistent at home this season, with four wins, one draw and four losses from nine matches.
Abafana Bes’thende are placed 10th on the Absa Premiership log with 19 points from 17 matches.
In head-to-head stats, Arrows and AmaZulu have met in 17 league matches since 2001/02.
Abafana Bes’thende have claimed eight wins compared to six for Usuthu, while three matches have been drawn.
Arrows have claimed five wins and suffered three defeats from their eight previous home matches against AmaZulu.
When the teams met earlier this season they played to a goalless stalemate in a home match for Usuthu.
