AmaZulu midfielder Goodman Dlamini says he is motivated to work harder in the new season after cleaning up at the club’s awards evening at Suncoast Casino on Thursday night.
‘Deco’ was named the Most Improved Player, the Player of the Season and also walked away with the Suncoast Moment of Brilliance Award for his efforts during the 2013/14 season.
The Nongoma-born player is now looking to raise the bar even higher in the new season as he hopes to add some silverware to the Usuthu cabinet.
“It is such a great honour to win all these awards; I cannot explain how happy I am,” he said.
“I dedicate them to my coaches and my teammates, because I can’t achieve anything without them, and also to my family who have supported me throughout my career.
“The most important thing now is not to dwell on last season but focus on doing better in the new season. The fact that this ceremony takes place just before the start of the 2014/15 season means that we are being challenged to outdo ourselves.
“I am happy to be holding these trophies but what I want the most is to win a cup with the team this season. I believe we have what it takes to achieve that. The team is getting stronger and stronger and we all know what is expected of us.”
Usuthu will now continue with their preseason preparations ahead of their Absa Premiership opener against Ajax Cape Town on August 10.Share
