‘Deco’ is AmaZulu Player of December

AmaZulu have identified midfielder Goodman ‘Deco’ Dlamini as December’s Player of the Month. He has now won the award for the second consecutive month.

The 25 year old midfielder was presented with his prize after training on Friday, 10 January 2014.

The Nongoma-born player was full of gratitude for the accolade but opted not to take the plaudits for the team’s improved run in December.

“I’m happy but I must admit I wasn’t expecting to get the award for the second consecutive month. I think I’ve been working hard but I’d like to thank my teammates for the support because we’re working together towards getting the team to a respectable standard,” said Dlamini.

A cheque worth R2000 and a voucher for a night’s stay for two at Suncoast Hotel Towers was presented to the player by AmaZulu General Manager Peter O’Connor alongside the Chairman of AmaZulu, Dr Patrick Sokhela.

“In the last few months Goodman has done extremely well for the club and his teammates, hopefully he can maintain that in the second round.

“He’s raised the bar for other players and we’re delighted to have signed new players in Ruzaigh Gamildien and Nhlanhla Shabalala as that will enhance the quality in the team going forward,” said O’Connor.
