AmaZulu newcomer, Andre de Jong is adjusting to life at the club having made his Absa Premiership debut against Bidvest Wits last weekend.
The 22-year-old had a few chances to open his goal scoring account before he was taken off in the 70th minute at the King Zwelithini Stadium.
“It was an awesome experience, very disappointed by the result but for me personally it was an honour to debut for AmaZulu,” de Jong said.
“The pace was good, I adjusted fairly well. It will take a bit of time but I thought I held my own.”
“It is not overly physical, pretty similar to back in New Zealand but obviously the pace is different,” de Jong explained.
De Jong joined the team in pre-season and says he has acclimatised to the city.
“I am loving life in Durban, getting settled in my apartment, still looking for a car but really enjoying a new city,” de Jong said.
“The preseason was really good, the coaching staff and fellow players have helped me settle in and I really appreciate what they have done for me,” de Jong concluded.
