Jomo Cosmos ran out 4-1 winners over a ten-man AmaZulu in a National First Division match at Olen Park on Sunday.
It was the perfect start to the match for Cosmos who took the lead after only ten minutes with KevinNdayisengi finding the back of the net for the home side, 1-0.
Just before the half hour mark AmaZulu were reduced to ten men when Augustine Ramphele was shown a straight red card for a studs-up tackle on Danzel Hoesab.
Cosmos were able to double their lead in the 38th minute allowing them to take a 2-0 lead into the break.
Despite being a man down AmaZulu came out fighting in the second half and managed to pull a goal back in the 74th minute courtesy of a strike from Siyabonga Nomvethe after tapping home from close range, 2-1.
AmaZulu’s joy, though, was short-lived with Mxolisi Macuphu restoring Cosmos’ two-goal lead two minutes later after a well-worked goal, 3-1.
The nail in the coffin for AmaZulu was the concession of a fourth goal in the dying minutes of the match to see Usuthu lose 4-1 on the day.Share
