Talent Chawapiwa has found a new home at AmaZulu.
The winger has joined the club on a 3-year-deal from Baroka FC.
The 26-year-old earned over 50 caps for Bakgaga, establishing himself as a crucial member of their playing squad. In December last year, he helped them win the Telkom Knock-out.
“It’s a good feeling and achievement for me, moving from point a to b is something I’ve been expecting in my life,” Chawapiwa said.
Chawapiwa is a regular in the Zimbabwe national team and will join some familiar faces at Usuthu. The club’s Zimbabwean contingent currently boasts the likes of Butho Ncube, Ovidy Kararu as well as Energy Murambadoro.
“AmaZulu are a big team, I’m excited to be here. I’ve always kept in contact with my Zimbabwean brothers,” Chawapiwa said.
AmaZulu are currently 11th on the ABSA Premiership log and are pushing for a top eight finish come the end of the season.
“It is a good squad, a good team with a very tactical coach. The team is young and energetic, ball passing and always want to win,” Chawapiwa said.
Chawapiwa could make his first-team debut against Cape Town City on 9 February. The clash against the Citizens takes place at the King Zwelithini Stadium at 20:15.Share
