Celtic host struggling Usuthu


Bloemfontein Celtic will host the Absa Premiership’s basement club AmaZulu at the Free State Stadium on Sunday, 15 February 2015, kick-off at 15h30.

Celtic resumed their league campaign in 2015 by holding log leaders Kaizer Chiefs to a goalless draw on Wednesday.

The Bloemfontein side has claimed 10 points from eight home matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are Platinum Stars (home), Bidvest Wits (away) and SuperSport United (home).

Phunya Sele Sele are placed 11th on the Absa Premiership log with 21 points from 18 matches.

AmaZulu’s first competitive match of the year ended in a defeat, as they went down 2-1 at home to Orlando Pirates on Wednesday.

The Durban side has claimed five points from nine away matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are Mamelodi Sundowns (home), SuperSport United and Black Aces (both away).

Usuthu are placed 16th on the Absa Premiership log with nine points from 17 matches.

In head-to-head stats, Celtic and AmaZulu have met in 47 league matches since 1985.

Phunya Sele Sele have 18 wins compared to 12 for Usuthu, while 17 matches have been drawn.

Celtic have won 12 of their 24 home matches, suffering just two defeats in the process.

When the teams met earlier this season, Phunya Sele Sele claimed a 2-0 away win thanks to goals from Lamola and Mhango.

    Morning, I m so disappointed and hurt at the same time. We played very well for 20 minutes, I thought we re going to win the game . this is not right at all ..losing two games in the row is an unacceptable, Mabizela let us down by getting a red card …cant always fix the same mistakes . I wont blamed the management, technical team and Coach they have done their part is up to the players to roll up their sleeves. If we need to avoid relegation, we should start wining games .
