AmaZulu FC head coach Cavin Johnson gave praise to his side for their overall performance as they handed Mamelodi Sundowns their first loss of the season following a convincing away performance at Loftus Versefeld on 29 January.
The win 2-0 against the Absa Premiership champions propels the KZN outfit to 11th position with 20 points.
Johnson said his charges deserved the plaudits meet the hard work they gave at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium.
“We did a lot of work, I thought in the first half we were worth the goal, even though it was an own goal.”
“We scored a goal from a set piece which is not normal against Sundowns because they defend very well.”
“For us we did something right in terms of building up for the game, well done to Siya Mbatha (goalkeeper) for getting the man of the match, ’’ he said.
AmaZulu’s next assignment is against Cape Town City at the King Zwelithini stadium on 09 February 2019. Kickoff is at 20:15.Share
