Big clash with Pirates awaits Usuthu


A massive clash with Absa Premiership defending champions Orlando Pirates is what awaits AmaZulu at the Orlando Stadium on Sunday, 28 October 2012, kick-off at 15h30.


Pirates have won three of their last four league matches and handed impressive newcomers University of Pretoria their first defeat of the season earlier this month.


The Soweto giants have won two of their three home matches so far this season and will be confident of another three points.


The Buccaneers are placed second on the Absa Premiership log with 13 points from seven matches.


AmaZulu have lost three of their last four league matches, with their last defeat a 1-0 reverse at home to Ajax Cape Town.


The Durban side has suffered defeat in all three of their away matches so far this season and will want to end that record against Pirates.


Usuthu are placed 16th on the Absa Premiership log with four points from seven matches.


In head-to-head stats, Pirates and AmaZulu have met in 47 league matches since 1985.


Bucs have 22 wins compared to just nine for Usuthu, while 16 matches have ended in draws.


Pirates have a good home record against AmaZulu, with 15 wins, six draws and just three losses from 24 matches. Their last home loss to the Durban team was way back in 1993.


Last season Bucs took four points off Usuthu, drawing 0-0 in Soweto and winning 1-0 in Durban.
