AmaZulu coach Steve Barker says his players did not create enough scoring opportunities to match Mamelodi Sundowns who took the three points following their 1-0 win at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Tuesday night.
AmaZulu had started the Absa Premiership tie on a high note showing dominance at home with debutant Thabiso Dlamini making a good impression.
“Unfortunately once again we gave the goal away which was a bit of a soft goal but at the end of the day we probably didn’t create enough chances ourselves to actually win the game.
“But I must say, if we can continue to play like this I’m sure we will get some victories under the belt,” said Barker.
Despite Mamelodi Sundowns dominating most of the second half, it was AmaZulu that finished strong showing a never give up attitude.
“I must commend my players again for the great commitment and the never-say-die attitude they showed again this evening and I keep saying it, but tomorrow’s another day.
“We have to stand up, we’ve got another game on Sunday away from home against SuperSport United, tough, but we need to be up for the task,” he said.
The coach said at this point in time it as if he is watching a recurring movie where there is a great team work and great work ethic.
“It seems like it’s a recurring movie right now … a lot of great effort, working hard for one another, keeping ourselves in matches to try and win it,” ended Barker.Share
