After making four major signings, training hard and playing friendly matches during the Absa Premiership break, AmaZulu coach Steve Barker says he can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Barker said he is happy with how the new signings are carrying themselves at training, saying it shows that they are willing to do well and fight for the team.
“It’s been great, we have had a great break and I think that’s what we needed. OJ [Mabizela] has been superb, he is just proving what kind of a quality player he is. He has shown some great leadership qualities and that just shows we are in a business,” said Barker
“I am also happy with how [Bongi] Ntuli is progressing, he has gained back his fitness level and I am sure he is going to do well for the club as a quality striker.”
Speaking about the goalkeeping department, Barker said he has so much faith in Energy Murambadoro and believes that the competition is going to be very tough.
“Obviously when you bring in a player like Energy Murambadoro in to the team, you would like him to play. I think he has had 12 starts this season. Having said so, there is going to be lot of hard work required from the three goalkeepers,” said Barker.
Speaking about how the team has been doing during the off-season break, Barker said he is proud of what he saw from the players.
“Everyone is working hard and I am proud with how we have been doing. What matters the most right now is that we apply the same attitude and convert those into the league points.”Share
