As soon as the referee blew the first whilst AmaZulu went all out with determination, authority and fought like Zulu warriors as they thumped Moroka Swallows 4-0 on Saturday at the Princess Magogo Stadium.
Coach Steve Barker’s main concern over the past three matches was the converting of chances and this time he was handed a huge surprise as his boys scored in the first five minutes.
“I am a delighted about many aspects of the game, but more especially because from the word go we dominated and not just created chances, but we utilized them to the best of our ability,” said Barker.
“I have always said if we take our chances we will win games and we did that and I am proud of the players.”
Another interesting factor in this match was that the players looked relaxed and in charge of the game which is something that the club has been trying to work on since playing in the NFD.
“These games must give you belief and confidence that you can achieve more,” added Barker.
“As you know we had just started in the NFD and we were still trying to find our feet, and this can only be a start of greater things to come.
“I hope this victory will give us confidence and we must double it up with another one or else this will not mean much as we have another home game next weekend.”
Baker also alluded to the fact the he is happy about the clean sheet that the club kept and they must now work on maintaining it and finding balance.
“It is also good that we are not conceding goals especially at home as we still have a long race to go.
“All in all I am happy with the performance. I am proud of the boys,” concluded Barker.Share
