Ayabulela Konqobe and Mhlengi Cele Usuthu deals completed

AmaZulu have completed the signing of its former centre back, Ayabulela Konqobe (21) and striker Mhlengi Cele (30). Both players made the switch to Usuthu on a three year deal respectively.

Konqobe has become the second returnee in the same transfer window after Togolese centre back, Sedate-Auro Akoriko recently rejoined the KZN outfit.

AmaZulu General Manager, Lunga Sokhela confirmed the latest additions to the squad.

“The players are officially signed with AmaZulu FC and we’re pleased to have them. They are quality players who bring much needed quality in their respective positions,” said Sokhela.

Konqobe and Cele are no strangers to the ABSA Premiership having both been on the books of Chippa United and Ajax Cape Town albeit with limited appearances.

The Eshowe born Cele finished runner up to Royal Eagle’s Sedwyn George in the National First Division last season with 19 goals.

  1. Good signings for the green and white hoping that the coach will use them. I have seen them playing they are hungry and the good thing this season its Kzn players. Please sign a good goal minder because the current ones are not up to standard. I hope the coach is up to the game and club administrator s will do their best.
