‘More difficult than the derby’

February 5, 2010

Coach Neil Tovey insists Sunday’s game against Mpumalanga Black Aces could provide even more of a challenge than Tuesday’s match against Golden Arrows.

The clash with ‘AmaZayoni’ takes place at the Moses Mabhida Stadium, kick off scheduled for 15H30 Sunday.

Aces are fighting tooth and nail with Jomo Cosmos to avoid the automatic relegation spot, and their desperation to scrape points together in any manner is what will make this a real battle for ‘Usuthu’

“It is not going to be an easy game it will possibly be more difficult than the derby. Aces are fighting for survival, they have no real special players but they are a fighting team,” Tovey told amazulufc.net.

The ‘Usuthu’ mentor says that mental readiness is key to Sunday’s match.

“It has been a tough four days, in preparing the players' mind sets for the game.”

Tovey goes on to update us with team news and tactics:

“Warren Bishop comes back from suspension. He was an asset for us in the last games he played - in fact he was one of the best players towards the end of last year.

“Sandile Gumede and Myron Shongwe are back at training - only Ntokozo Sikhakhane and Sthe Dlamini are still injured.

“In the middle of the park against Arrows we used Belux and Litha and they paired up nicely. Belux added a solid professional, workmanlike attitude to complement Litha’s skill.

“It is also about rewarding the last team. We’re also expecting Tsweu Mokoro back and he might be considered for playing.

We had a problem at Ulundi before but now we hoping to make our first win at Moses Mabhida Stadium. The pitch has settled down a bit and it just a case of making it happen,” added 'Mokoko'.
