AmaZulu Team Manager, James Dlamini, says the team is surprisingly very sharp coming from a holiday break.
“Not only that they look very determined to carry on and improve from where they left off at the end of last year. Another encouraging thing is the fact that we don’t have anyone who is still injured.
“Myron Shongwe is back in fully training and is regaining fitness,” said Dlamini.
Shongwe and others could have their fitness tested on Thursday when Usuthu play a training match with Vodacom campaigning, Globe City of Stanger.
A host of matches are on the cards including a training camp to Gauteng where they will also play Bidvest Wits and other clubs next week.
Tovey and his troops will be hoping to make the most of the week long camp as it is still a while before the PSL programme resumes. He will have enough time to work closely with the squad while also looking at a few players training with the team for any future re-enforcements.
“We’re working hard and we are doing lots of things. We will be taking a few new players with but the focus is on getting the guys we have ready,” said Tovey.
The Coach said he is pleased of the fact that two of his players, Kampamba Chintu and Kalilio Kakonje will be well tuned into game mode when they return from doing international duty from Angola in the Nations Cup.
Usuthu leave for Johannesburg on 18th, Monday and will return on 25th Monday. They play Bidvest Wits on Tuesday.
