News of the tragic passing of prominent supporter Thembolwethu 'Mandlanduna' Luthuli has reached 'Usuthu'. The fallen warrior was known for his unique siren which he blew passionately during AmaZulu matches.
Luthuli was shot dead last week in his home town in unclear circumstances.
Supporter Coordinator, Bukelani Mthembu says 'Mandlanduna' will be sorely missed by the club and all those who knew him.
'We feel dearly for his family. He is our family member as well, we will really miss his presence at our matches,' said Mthembu.
Details of the 'Siren Supporters' funeral will be published once they have been finalized by the Luthuli family.
Hand operated sirens were originally used during the Second World War to sound warning on an impending attack. They became popular in South African football matches during the 1980's and 90's.
