AmaZulu Staff take to the field

December 1, 2009

An assembled 'dream team’ of AmaZulu Staff members, including coaches and first team technical members, lost in a game against an SAPS Police side on Thursday night.

Led by Usuthu golden 80s star Joel Faya, Development Head Thami Ngubane and former goalkeeper Graham Johnson, the unfit but enthusiastic lot were defeated 4-2.

It was all about the fun, and a lot of 'talent', should there have been any scouts present at the UKZN Howard College Sports Grounds!

Joel Faya managed to score a brace. Graham Johnson's defence letm down as his brilliant saves were not enough to save the side.

Team Physio Divan Augustyn downed his emergency medical kit to pull of a surprise star performance, managing to whip in superb crosses which Kit Manager Bongani Zwane failed to put the ball in the back of the net.

The social match, according to Thami Ngubane and Media and Communications Manager Philani Mabaso, is just a team building effort which at the same time encourages people to keep fit.

This is a lesson Team Manager, James Dlamini knows all about that as he could not live up to first five minutes of what had been a thunderous introduction, when he suffered a cramp.
