'I could sense the third goal!'
August 19, 2009
AmaZulu fan Lucky Sithole has some fantastic memories of George (seen on the right tormenting Orlando Pirates' Mark Fish), who helped Usuthu to a thrilling win over Kaizer
Chiefs in a Coca Cola Cup game back in the 90's... |

"My friend, the goal that will last forever in my memory is the one you scored against Chiefs in Coca Cola Cup.
We had scored first and Chiefs equalized and I was the only Usuthu fan in the full house in which we were watching the game.
I was still a young boy and everyone was laughing at me some saying: "Chiefs equalizes like this and there are two more to come."
The game went on and George scored with a well taken header, two-one it was and the whole house went dead quiet, I only celebrated with my heart because I could have been punched since they claimed that you elbowed their defender ( I think it was Frees or Tshisevhe, but he was light in complexion).
The game went on and Simon CCV Magagula and Joseph Nyakanyaka Mlaba made Chiefs chase the shadows. At that moment I could feel and sense the third goal.
I then went to stand by the door. I think it was Ephraim Mwale or Magagula who scored the third. He ran wide on the left side and cut inside the field and scored. 3-1 it was.
I just went out and headed home. It was a sweet victory. Since that day I never forgot each and everyone of you. That's my memory of you George."

Editor’s comment: The third goal was scored by Ephraim Mwelase. George's goal actually deflected off of Lucas Radebe, while he claims not to have elbowed anyone!
