AmaZulu received much needed boost in their squad with the signing of experienced defender and veteran striker, Tumelo Letuka and Mabhuti Khenyeza who joined the KZN outfit on a two year and one year deal respectively.

Usuthu Head Coach Joey Antipas also added 22 year old Durban Warriors defender, Njabulo Ngcobo on a three year deal. The young defender has raised his hand for reckoning alongside his seniors.

“Njabulo is an upcoming player with a good attitude. What I like about him is his aggressiveness, he’s a no nonsense defender,” the Coach said.

Of former Golden Arrows and Free State man, Tumelo Letuka the coach says he’ll be good replacement for the departed Marc Van Heerden.

“Tumelo is an experienced left footer who will contribute a lot and also help the younger players around him,” he said.

Veteran striker Mabhuti Khenyeza could be just what the Usuthu faithful has been craving for according to the Zimbabwean tactician, added with the prospect of pairing up with Siyabonga Nomvethe upfront this season.

“Mabhuti will be a massive acquisition for the club because we know what he’s made of. He is a big personality and I’m certain he will help the youngsters and others playing around him and Bhele Nomvethe,” said Antipas.

On 30 June AmaZulu played Maritzburg United in a friendly match which further gave the green and white donning side room to gauge their progress ahead of the new season.
