AmaZulu to face Sundowns away


AmaZulu will travel to Mamelodi Sundowns in a bottom-of-the-log Absa Premiership clash at Loftus Stadium on Wednesday, 21 November 2012, kick-off at 19h30.


AmaZulu suffered their sixth league loss of the season in their last outing, going down 1-0 away to Bloemfontein Celtic.


The Durban side has picked up just one point from a possible 15 in their away matches so far this season and will want to get at least a point off Sundowns.


Usuthu are placed 14th on the Absa Premiership log with eight points from 10 matches.


Meanwhile Sundowns extended their winless streak in the league to nine matches when they drew 1-1 away to University of Pretoria.


The Tshwane side has recorded one win, one draw and three losses from their five home matches so far this season.


The Brazilians are placed last on the Absa Premiership log with six points from 10 matches.


In head-to-head stats, Sundowns and AmaZulu have met in 47 league matches since 1985.


The Brazilians have dominated the fixture down the years, claiming 31 wins compared to just six by Usuthu.


‘Downs have won 14 of their 23 home matches against AmaZulu, though they last beat them at home in the 2009/10 season.


Last season the Pretoria team claimed four points from their Durban counterparts, drawing 0-0 at home before winning 1-0 in the return match.
