AmaZulu’s dreadlocked sensation Lehlohonolo Majoro has told the official website of how the weekend TKO 2-0 loss to Kaizer Chiefs has made him and his teammate stronger.
He didn’t expect a smooth cruise into the Telkom Knockout Challenge second round draw but ‘Major’ says the way fought as a team it was unfortunate that the defending champions proved too strong for them.
“They scored first and that took us by surprise. But the coach has told us to turn and keep our focus back on the league now.”
Playing in front of a relatively good attendance at Moses Mabhida Stadium, ‘Usuthu’ were stunned by 2-0 just before half time. In trying to get back to ABSA Premiership mode the embattled Durban side now has to face 6th placed Santos away at Athlone Stadium.
“When we play an away game I always like to think that everyone wants to win. We want to make it a point that we come back with 3 points because we want to resurrect our form.
It’s my first season at AmaZulu and I told myself when I came here that I hadn’t come to add numbers but to add value. Even though we lost in the first round of a cup competition it is not the end of the road we can still contest for other honours on offer,” said the former Highlands Park man.
The 24 year old had a hard time trying to penetrate a strong Chiefs defence this past Saturday but says and admits it will only get tougher as the pressure starts to heat up.
