AmaZulu take aim at Celtic

AmaZulu will look to continue their battle against relegation from the Absa Premiership when they host Bloemfontein Celtic at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Wednesday, 17 April 2013, kick-off at 19h30.

AmaZulu saw a seven-game unbeaten streak come to an end in their last league match when they were beaten 3-1 away to University of Pretoria.

The Durban side has recorded three wins, five draws and three defeats from their 11 home matches this season.

Usuthu are placed 13th on the Absa Premiership log with 25 points from 24 matches.

Celtic have gone four league matches without a win. Their last league outing was a 1-1 home draw against Maritzburg United.

The Bloemfontein side has recorded seven wins, two draws and three losses from 12 home matches this season.

Phunya Sele Sele are placed 10th on the Absa Premiership log with 31 points from 24 matches.

In head-to-head stats, AmaZulu and Celtic have met in 43 league matches since 1985.

Phunya Sele Sele have 17 wins compared to 11 for Usuthu, while 15 matches have been drawn.

AmaZulu have won nine of their 20 home matches against Celtic, suffering five defeats in the process.

When the teams met earlier this season in Bloemfontein, Celtic won 1-0 thanks to a goal from Manzini.
