Durban – AmaZulu FC’s Media office has released a statement in which the club expresses its support for first team coach Manqoba Mnithi.
The statement, released on Tuesday, October 26 – reads as follows:
The club would like to voice it’s disappointment in the reckless and incorrect rumours being spread in a newspaper which suggested that there is movement by management to try and replace the current coach with only just 5 league matches played.
AmaZulu and Manqoba Mngqithi have a clear plan which both parties are currently executing. As a new coach we understand that he has his own philosophies which as management are fully support. People must also understand that to carry out a plan you don’t just jump from level 1 to level 7.
The majority of players have shown signs of grasping the coach’s style which as a club we’re happy about. There is good progress. So these rumours are really incorrect. I call upon our supporters to rally behind our coach.
We understand that as a club we always want to be winning every match. Yes, the results haven’t been favourable and at certain times things don’t happen as you wish. It is just a matter of time because we have seen an improvement in the way the team plays; it is also just a matter of time before the results start coming.
Manqoba Mngqithi is a good coach by his standards and as a team we’re trust in his abilities and his technical team. There are no such plans being made to replace him. Rumours of this nature are embarrassing to both parties and we call upon our supporters to rally behind us in this regard in support of the team.
