Ayanda Dlamini, head coach of AmaZulu Reserves reckons his charges are fully equipped to redeem themselves in the Multichoice Diski Challenge when they take on Chippa United on Saturday morning (10am) at the King Zwelithini Stadium.
“The boys have learnt from their mistakes, we spoke about it, we’ve been working hard to rectify those mistakes.”
Dlamini also spoke about ensuring that the team is mentally fit as well following their 4-1 loss to Kaizer Chiefs which may have dampened their spirits.
“The mood hasn’t been that great but we’ve been trying to lift the boys up, ” he says.
Usuthu Reserves currently lie eighth on the Diski Challenge log with 18 points, 8 points behind log leaders Cape Town City with three matches left before the season concludes.
The former Usuthu striker believes that the team has had a good run this season regardless of their recent loss.
“We’ve been a really good team, it would be really unfair to judge the boys based on last weekend’s performance.”
“If you compare the team to last season, we have done really well, there’s been a huge improvement.”
Usuthu will have to do without their leading goal scorer upfront, Bayanda Shangase (19) who was announced in the SA Under-20 final squad set to travel to Niger ahead of the CAF 2019 AFCON scheduled for 02-17 February.Share
