AmaZulu will welcome their KwaZulu-Natal rivals Maritzburg United in an Absa Premiership match at the King Zwelithini Stadium on Tuesday.

Kick-off is at 19h30.

Usuthu are keen to bounce back to winning ways after suffering a 2-0 defeat to Chippa United in their previous league match in Port Elizabeth two weeks ago.

The defeat left AmaZulu placed eighth on the league standings with three points from two matches. They are three points behind log leaders Maritzburg United.

AmaZulu beefed up their striking department with the signing of Rhulani Manzini from Chippa a few days before the recent local Transfer Window closed.

Cavin Johnson, the Usuthu head coach, is likely to unleash the marksman, who scored eight Absa Premiership goals last season, in the highly anticipated KwaZulu-Natal Derby in Durban.

Meanwhile, Maritzburg will be eyeing their third straight league win as they defeated Ajax Cape Town 2-0 in Pietermaritzburg two weeks ago.

The Team of Choice are placed at the top of league standings with six points from two games. They are only ahead of second-placed Cape Town City on goal-difference.

Evans Rusike, the Maritzburg striker, will be hoping continue his good form in the league – having netted twice for the Team of Choice against Ajax.

Fadlu Davids’ side will be looking to bounce back to winning ways in Durban following their 2-0 home defeat to SuperSport United in the MTN8 Cup semi-final clash on Saturday.

The last time AmaZulu and Maritzburg locked horns in an Absa Premiership encounter was on 9 May 2015 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.

Maritzburg won 2-1 thanks to two goals from Deolin Mekoa and Mohau Mokate, while Tapelo Nyongo netted for Usuth
