AmaZulu hope for repeat of last season


 

AmaZulu will be hoping they can repeat what they did last season in beating beat Ajax Cape Town home and away when they meet in an Absa Premiership clash at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday, 6 October 2012, kick-off at 20h15.

 

AmaZulu suffered their fourth loss of the season this past weekend when they were beaten 2-1 away by Platinum Stars.

 

The Durban side will be looking for a repeat of their last home match, a 2-1 win over Moroka Swallows.

 

Usuthu are placed 16th on the Absa Premiership log with four points from six matches.

 

Ajax suffered their heaviest defeat of the season so far when they were beaten 5-1 at home by University of Pretoria in their last outing.

 

The Cape Town side has lost all three of their away matches so far this season.

 

The Urban Warriors are placed 15th on the Absa Premiership log with four points from six matches.

 

In head-to-head stats, AmaZulu and Ajax have met in 18 league matches since 1999/2000.

 

The Urban Warriors have 10 wins compared to five for Usuthu, while just three matches have been drawn.

 

AmaZulu’s home record against Ajax reads: P9 W4 D1 L4 GF11 GA7.

 

Last season Usuthu did a league ‘double’ over their Cape counterparts, winning 4-0 at home and 4-2 away.
