AmaZulu Glenwood Academy head for McDonald U14 Nationals

AmaZulu Glenwood Academy will be looking to crown their successful 2017 football calendar on a high note this year as the McDonald U14 School’s League National Finals get underway from 05 October at Sinaba Stadium in Benoni.

Coach Khaya Mngwengwe’s boys defeated Muthazwa Secondary 2-1 in the KZN Provincial Finals last month to book their place in the prestigious school’s interprovincial finals in Bloemfontein.

Mngwengwe said of the young Usuthu’s quest for glory: The boys promised themselves that they want to win and reach the nationals this year. It’s been something that we’ve been working on for this year.”

I’m glad because we have keep playing against the top schools so that they can reach their fullest potential.

We are not going to Joburg to make up numbers. Is it going to be easy? No. It’s going to be easy. There are other teams with their own plans, so we just have to be better prepared.

The ultimate goal is to win the tournament but we know it’s not going to be easy.

We’ve got a good young side. We can’t complain,” said Mngwengwe.
The national finals will kick-off on Thursday. The final will be played on Saturday.
