AmaZulu have been drawn into the semifinals of the KZN Premiers Cup on Sunday morning. They will face the winner of Thanda Royal Zulu and Royal Eagles who will play on Saturday at Richards Bay.
In the other semifinal on Sunday morning, Golden Arrows and Maritzburg United battle each other for a spot on the Final late on Sunday.
AmaZulu’s marketing manager Lunga Sokhela has encouraged the importance of having tournaments such as this because he believes they uplift football in the province.
Sokhela said that he hopes such tournaments can inspire young footballers to have the desire of playing for one of the clubs playing in the KZN Premiers Cup.
“We have seen that there is a great desire for football in this area and we hope that this tournament can inspire young local footballers to dream of playing for one of these clubs,” said Sokhela.
AmaZulu coach Steve Barker said his wish was to play against a National First Division and Premiership club.
“It would be good to play a National First Division club as well as a PSL club as this will somehow give us an indication on how ready we are for the upcoming season.”Share
