AmaZulu fill Assistant Coach Role with Alan Clark

The club has welcomed Benoni born technical mind, Alan Clark to work alongside Head Coach, Cavin Johnson as well as Youth Technical Director Ronnie Moroka in the Usuthu dug out for the season.

Clark who has worked under Johnson at Supersport United and Platinum Stars previously was welcomed by AmaZulu General Manager, Lunga Sokhela at training on 15 August 2017 after completing his move with the KZN side.

“It’s an exciting challenge to be part of because AmaZulu is a big club in South African football. There need to be a lot of hard work put in, step by step we need to do it.”

“It’s not an easy task but we need to do it step by step,” said Clark.

The 37 year old tactician has been under the tutelage of the best in local football coaching circles, with Pitso Mosimane, Gordon Igesund and Gavin Hunt being some of the coaches he has worked with.

The club has assembled a mix of youth and experience to build on this season, terrain Clark believes him and Johnson are all too familiar with at Absa Premiership level.

“If you see what we did with Platinum Stars in the first team, a young team that went to the group stages of the CAF Confederations Cup.

“What I’ve seen here at AmaZulu and what is encouraging is that there are good youth products that have come up and are willing to learn,” said Clark.
