AmaZulu Football Club has offered condolences to the family of its former son, Bafo Biyela, who has been reported to have passed away due to illness.
Although details of the Ngwelezane-born midfielder’s death are still very sketchy, management have received the news with great sadness.
AmaZulu General Manager Peter O’Connor said, “The Chairman, Directors, staff and players of AmaZulu are distressed to hear of the passing of Bafo Biyela.
“Our condolences go out to his family, he was an integral part of AmaZulu when we came back from promotion into the PSL. May his soul rest in peace,” said O’Connor.
Biyela left AmaZulu in the 2009/10 season and joined neigbours Golden Arrows and later went to Mpumalanga Black Aces.
Prior to his apparent illness he had a stint with Thanda Royal Zulu.
