Usuthu took to KwaMashu-situated Gozololo Children’s Home on Thursday morning to present a cheque of R140,000 as a donation to help run the home, which caters to about 300 children.
The money was raised from pledges made by a host of companies at a Golf Day which was held on 21 August 2012.
“I want to say to AmaZulu and Spar, may God bless them for what they have once again done for the young ones. I always wish that when people decide to donate something to us, it is even nicer when they also come to see where everything goes to,” said Mrs Mirriam Cele of Gozololo.
In the spirit of the Dr Patrick Sokhela-owned club’s annual Christmas visit to the youngsters, AmaZulu players encouraged the kids in their plight through singing and dancing the Usuthu war cry.
The Chairman of the Trust Lunga Sokhela heaped praise on the golf day organiser Iqbal Khan and the companies who partook in the charity event.
