Today we shed light on AmaZulu's participation in the BP Top 8 and Ohlssons Challenge in 1987.
Usuthu were eliminated out of the Ohlssons Challenge by a then rampant Mamelodi Sundowns. Dimunitive striker Bennet Masinga scored on the day.

Club legend Julius Chirwa blasted two as we played to a two-all draw against neighbours Bush Bucks in the BP Top Eight Cup. Mlungisi 'Professor' Ngubane's sharp left foot put two past AmaZulu. The match was then abandoned due to crowd unrest and fading light. There were no flood lights then!
